An office visit to Ernst & Young (EY) Kuching was successfully organised on 13 May 2026 by EY Campus Champs (EYCC) FY26 representative, James Kong Yew Hang. A total of 30 participants took part in the visit, comprising 28 Accountancy students accompanied by Dr. Nazaria Md. Aris, Accountancy Programme Coordinator, and Mr. Razman, Accounting Lecturer. The visit aimed to enhance the understanding of professional accounting practice among Accountancy students from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), while providing first-hand exposure to the working environment of a Big Four audit firm.

The session began with a warm welcome from Ms. Karen Wei, Assurance Manager and coordinator of the visit, who introduced EY’s global network, services, and organisational culture. This was followed by a sharing session from Ms. Sabrina Ku, Audit Manager and UNIMAS alumna, who highlighted the shift from traditional audit to digital audit, including the use of analytics and Smart Automation tools to enhance efficiency. The session concluded with Ms. Jasmine Tan, Audit Associate and a fresh graduate from the Accounting Programme, FEB UNIMAS, who shared her career journey, transition into EY, and practical advice on online assessments and interview preparation as she entered the profession.


The visit came to a close with a token of appreciation to EY in recognition of EY’s hospitality and support, including the provision of light refreshments for participants. The Accounting Department and EYCC expressed sincere appreciation to EY for its collaboration and commitment to student development, highlighting the strong industry–academia partnership in enriching learning experiences and preparing students for future professional careers.
