Zookaneka 2025/2026, organised by Zoological Technology Programme from the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology, was successfully held for the first time on 14 December 2025 at Arena Tun Tuanku Haji Bujang, UNIMAS. The event brought together students and staff from various academic levels, including undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as lecturers, creating a vibrant and inclusive sporting atmosphere. A total of 254 participants took part in the event, which featured a variety of traditional and interactive games such as Relay Race, Bowling Kelapa, Sarong Game, Siapa Panjang, Ekor Naga, and Bola Beracun, all of which encouraged teamwork, active participation, and friendly competition.
The opening Zookaneka aimed to strengthen sportsmanship and foster unity and ukhuwah among members of the faculty despite differences in academic backgrounds and roles. Beyond promoting physical activity, the event also highlighted values of equality, cultural diversity, and social responsibility, particularly in relation to environmental conservation and animal resource management. The event concluded on a high note with a commemorative group photo involving participants and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Hata Rasit, marking a meaningful milestone for the faculty.
