WorldSkills Malaysia Sarawak 2025 (WSM-Sarawak 2025) is a prestigious state-level competition jointly organised by the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development (MEITD) and the Department of Skills Development (JPK).

Serving as a key initiative under the national WorldSkills movement, this event aims to foster a culture of excellence in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

It provides an important platform for young talents to showcase their technical competencies, creativity, and problem-solving abilities in line with current industry standards.

The competition emphasises the importance of aligning TVET skills with real-world demands, encouraging participants to apply practical knowledge through hands-on challenges.

It also acts as a bridge between education and industry, ensuring that the skills developed through TVET programmes remain relevant and competitive in the evolving job market.

By engaging participants from diverse institutions, the event nurtures collaboration, innovation, and professional growth among future technical leaders.

For the Web Technologies category, the preliminary round of WSM-Sarawak 2025 was conducted on 23–24 September 2025 at the Code Lab, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).

The session was coordinated by Ts. Dr. Lim Phei Chin, who served as the site coordinator, and Prof. Ts. Dr. Dayang NurFatimah Awg Iskandar as the UNIMAS person-in-charge (PIC) .

The competition tested participants’ abilities in areas such as web design, front-end development, and system integration.

Participants in this track represented several prominent institutions, including Politeknik Kuching, Politeknik Mukah, CENTEXS, Sarawak Skills, and UNIMAS, reflecting a strong regional collaboration in advancing digital and technical skills.

The judging panel comprised professionals and academics specializing in web technologies, ensuring a fair and comprehensive assessment process.

Their involvement not only upheld high standards of evaluation but also provided valuable feedback and industry insight to all competitors, reinforcing the mission of WSM-Sarawak 2025 in cultivating excellence and innovation within the Sarawak TVET community.
