The UNIMAS Entrepreneurship Centre (UEC) proudly hosted Hatchquest Bootcamp on 21–22 December 2024 at the Active Learning Space, Faculty of Engineering, UNIMAS. This impactful two-day program is an initiative by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) and UTM which was designed to nurture young talents in tech entrepreneurship through:

  • Idea validation
  • Minimum Viable Product (MVP) development
  • Go-to-market strategies and scaling up

This golden opportunity brought 32 students from various faculties in UNIMAS into the world of tech startups, with 10 exceptional teams competing to showcase their innovative solutions to real-world challenges.

From the Hatchquest Bootcamp Competition yesterday, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) has proudly announced that two exceptional teams have been selected to represent the university at the upcoming national innovation competition:

Champion: Team AAM – Health Guard from Faculty of Engineering

Team Members:

  • Awang Muhammad Azizul Haqeem Bin Awang Abdul Rahman
  • Muhammad Arif Nainnur Ramadhan Ali
  • Mandy Ak Bulie

Team AAM distinguished themselves with their groundbreaking health monitoring project, securing the 1st Place Title and a cash prize of RM 500. Their innovative solution is set to represent UNIMAS at the national level, where 44 teams from across the country will compete. The top 10 finalists will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas to potential investors.

1st Runner-Up: Team IMS – Transforming Organic Waste into High-Nutrition, Low-Cost Feed from Faculty of Resource Science and Technology

    • Naziatul Izzah Binti Roja
    • Marrylin Anak Tandang

Team IMS earned the 1st Runner-Up position with their innovative project focused on converting organic waste into high-nutrition, low-cost animal feed. This initiative not only addresses waste management challenges but also contributes to sustainable agricultural practices.These achievements underscore UNIMAS’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence among its students, preparing them to make significant contributions at both national and international levels.
