Sarawak Energy hosted its annual Scholarship Award Ceremony at the Sheraton Hotel in Kuching on 12th September 2024. The event honored outstanding engineering students from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) for their academic excellence, leadership, and commitment. A total of 12 students from UNIMAS’ Faculty of Engineering received scholarships: 9 in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and 3 in Civil Engineering.
The ceremony was officiated by Sarawak Energy’s Group CEO, Yang Berbahagia Datuk Haji Sharbini Suhaili, who emphasized the importance of nurturing local talent to support Sarawak’s growth in the energy and infrastructure sectors. The scholarship program is part of Sarawak Energy’s corporate social responsibility, focusing on education and human capital development to foster future leaders in engineering, science, and technology.
Recipients expressed their gratitude and pledged to contribute to Sarawak’s future development. The scholarship program underlines Sarawak Energy’s long-term commitment to developing homegrown talent and supporting the state’s sustainable growth.
