Jakarta, 31 July 2026 – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), strengthened its international academic network through a strategic discussion with Universitas Gunadarma, Jakarta, focusing on double degree, postgraduate, and research, and international collaboration.
UNIMAS delegations were represented by:

The discussion explored the appointment of academics as external examiners for postgraduate programmes particularly in Accounting. These shall provide opportunities for greater academic exchange and international expertise in postgraduate assessment. Both institutions also discussed the implementation of a Global Classroom. The initiative brings together students and lecturers from both countries through interactive learning activities such as guest lectures and mini-quizzes.

In strengthening postgraduate research engagement, Universitas Gunadarma was invited to participate in postgraduate colloquiums, including the Borneo Business Research Colloquium (BBRC), as a platform for postgraduate students and academics to present research, exchange ideas, and build stronger research networks. Research collaboration was another key focal point, with both institutions exploring potential international matching grants. Opportunities for collaborative research, joint publications, and interdisciplinary projects involving academics from both institutions were also discussed.
The meeting further highlighted opportunities for conference collaboration and cooperation with academics from other disciplines. The engagement reflects the shared commitment of FEB UNIMAS and Universitas Gunadarma to transforming academic connections into meaningful initiatives.
