Year 3 students of the Industrial Relations and Employment Programme (IREP), Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), successfully organised the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Fun Run 2026 around the UNIMAS campus. The programme also featured the official closing ceremony of the Occupational Safety and Health Awareness Week 2026, as well as the announcement of winners for the Occupational Safety and Health Creative Challenge (E-Poster), held at the Lower Ground (LG) Floor, FSSH, UNIMAS.

The programme involved approximately 160 participants, comprising UNIMAS students, staff members, and members of the local community. The event was conducted in collaboration with 17 volunteer medics from UiTM Samarahan, who provided medical support and assistance throughout the programme to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

The programme aimed to promote greater awareness of the importance of maintaining good health, physical fitness, and overall well-being through active community participation. As an integral part of the programme, participants were also provided with safety briefings and guidance throughout the event to ensure a safe and well-organised running environment. The programme encouraged participants to adopt healthier lifestyles while fostering awareness of the importance of safety practices during physical and recreational activities.
Meanwhile, the Occupational Safety and Health Creative Challenge (E-Poster) served as a platform for participants to showcase their creativity and understanding of occupational safety and health issues through digital poster presentations. During the closing ceremony, winners of the competition were officially announced and recognised for their efforts and innovative ideas in promoting workplace safety awareness.

In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the programme supported SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by encouraging physical activity, promoting healthy lifestyles, and increasing health awareness among participants. The initiative also contributed towards SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities by encouraging inclusive participation among university students, staff members, and members of the community through accessible and community-based activities. In addition, the programme supported SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities by fostering public awareness of safety practices, community engagement, and collective well-being through organised recreational and educational activities.
The programme successfully strengthened collaboration between higher education institutions and the community while enhancing awareness of occupational safety and health practices. The initiative reflects the commitment of IREP, FSSH, UNIMAS to producing socially responsible students equipped with academic knowledge, leadership qualities, and practical community engagement skills.
