KOTA SAMARAHAN, 17 May 2026 – The 4th International Nursing Student’s Conference 2026 officially concluded with a memorable Closing Ceremony held at DeTAR PUTRA, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), marking the successful completion of the two-day conference held from 16 to 17 May 2026.

The conference brought together nursing students, educators, healthcare professionals and delegates in a platform that encouraged academic exchange, professional networking and discussions on current healthcare and nursing-related issues.

One of the main highlights of the closing ceremony was the official launch of the UNIMAS Nursing Students’ Association (UNSA) 2026. The launch was officiated by Deputy Dean (Student Affairs & Alumni), AP Dr Rekaya Vincent Balang, together with Head of Department, Mdm Dayang Zuraina binti Abang Haji Kashim.

The establishment of UNSA marks a significant milestone for the nursing student community at UNIMAS. The association aims to foster unity among nursing students while supporting their holistic academic and professional development through leadership, collaboration and student-centred activities.

During the ceremony, Samantha Dora anak Neculas Mawan was officially introduced as the first President of the UNIMAS Nursing Students’ Association (UNSA).

The organisers also expressed their appreciation to all sponsors and strategic partners whose contributions supported the success of the conference.

The Platinum Sponsors for the event were Business Event Sarawak and National University Hospital, while IHH Healthcare served as the Silver Sponsor. The Bronze Sponsors included Normah Medical Specialist Centre and KL Wellness City.

The organising committee also extended its gratitude to all delegates, speakers, organisers, sponsors and participants for their commitment and contribution towards making the conference a meaningful and successful event.

The successful organisation of the conference and the launch of UNSA reflect UNIMAS’ continuous commitment towards strengthening nursing education, student leadership and professional development within the healthcare sector.
