On 13 February 2025, FCSHD CARE extended assistance to flood victims in Samarahan, reaching four affected villages: Kampung Niup, Kampung Endap, Kampung Nangka, and Kampung Entingan. This initiative is part of the Sarawak Prihatin community grant, sponsored by the Persatuan Kaunseling dan Psikologi Malaysia (PEKAMARA) and Yayasan Hasanah.

The floods, which severely impacted these villages from January to early February this year, left many families struggling with damaged homes and limited access to necessities. In response, FCSHD CARE mobilized resources and volunteers to deliver aid efficiently. The program provided much-needed support to the villagers by distributing essential supplies, including food packs, hygiene kits, school necessities, and prayer equipment. Volunteers and organizers worked tirelessly to ensure that assistance reached those most in need.

Beyond material aid, the program also focused on providing emotional and psychological support to affected residents. Trained counselors were present to offer guidance and comfort, helping families cope with the trauma of the disaster. Community engagement activities were also held to uplift spirits and foster solidarity among the villagers.

The overwhelming support and solidarity shown by various groups have become beacons of hope for the flood victims. This initiative not only provides essential relief but also strengthens the resilience of affected communities. By working together, communities can rise above adversity, rebuild stronger, and embrace a future filled with hope and renewed determination.

Local leaders and village representatives expressed their appreciation for the initiative, highlighting how the timely aid has provided relief to those struggling to rebuild their lives. They commended the dedication of volunteers and expressed hope for continued support in future recovery efforts.

Moving forward, FCSHD CARE plans to collaborate closely with relevant agencies and organizations to provide long-term assistance, including infrastructure repair projects and livelihood support programs. The organization also aims to facilitate skills training workshops and financial aid programs to help affected families regain economic stability.

With ongoing collaboration and contributions from various stakeholders, FCSHD CARE seeks to strengthen its disaster response initiatives, ensuring that affected communities receive the support they need to recover and thrive.
