The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), through the Persatuan Mahasiswa Fakulti Ekonomi dan Perniagaan (PERFEP), successfully organised JuhNolong 2.0 on 13 June 2026 at Kampung Pedaun Bawah, Bau, Sarawak. This programme reflected FEB’s continuing commitment to community engagement while nurturing a spirit of volunteerism and social awareness among students.

JuhNolong 2.0 was honoured by the presence of Dr. Janifer Anak Lunyai, the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs and Alumni, FEB UNIMAS, who officiated the event and delivered a welcoming address. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of community service and inspired participants to embrace the values of volunteerism and compassion. Her support reflected the faculty’s dedication to empowering student-led initiatives that create meaningful impact beyond the university. The organising committee extends its heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Janifer for her guidance and unwavering support towards the success of JuhNolong 2.0.

Organised by PERFEP 2025/2026, JuhNolong 2.0 brought together 38 organising committee members, 22 Cahya Mata Sarawak volunteers, and 20 Askar volunteers, alongside local residents in Kampung Pedaun Bawah, Bau, for a series of meaningful activities aimed at fostering unity and support for the community. Their collective efforts ensured the smooth execution of the programme while creating a positive and welcoming experience for the local community.

The programme commenced with a welcoming ceremony featuring the exchange of tokens of appreciation between both institutions, symbolising mutual respect and a shared commitment to community development. Insightful speeches were delivered by Cahya Mata representatives – DSP(B) Tuan Poge Anak Nyaon and Ketua Kampung – Jambei Anak’ Ahjaw. A special appreciation session was also held to honour Cahya Mata, the sole sponsor of JuhNolong 2.0, in recognition of their generous support in covering the programme’s expenses and making the initiative possible. Next, followed by the presentation of donations to selected B40 families and single mothers within the community. The program’s goal of helping people in need while upholding the principles of empathy and social responsibility was expressed in this insightful session.

The event continued with a photography session, an interactive sukaneka games session, and a lively Zumba session that encouraged interaction, teamwork, and camaraderie among participants. These activities created a cheerful atmosphere while strengthening relationships between UNIMAS and the local community. In addition, volunteers from FEB, UNIMAS and Cahya Mata took part in a gotong-royong session, working together to support the cleanliness and upkeep of the village environment. The collaborative effort beautifully demonstrated the power of unity and community spirit in action. Finally, the programme concluded with a lunch meal session before participants prepared for their return journey to UNIMAS.

JuhNolong 2.0 is more than a community service programme. It is a platform for students to give back and create meaningful impact. As the Programme Director of Juhnolong 2.0, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Cahya Mata for their generous sponsorship and continuous support, the residents of Kampung Pedaun Bawah for their warm hospitality and cooperation, and the dedication and commitment tod our committee members and volunteers in making this programme a success. We hope that JuhNolong 2.0 has contributed positively to the community and inspired students to continue serving society with empathy, responsibility and purpose.”
