KOTA SAMARAHAN, 22 March 2025—The Kenyalang Career Series: Law Career Forum was successfully held at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). This event was organized through a collaborative effort involving the Universiti Malaya Students’ Union Faculty of Law (UMSU Law), the Persatuan Mahasiswa Sarawak Universiti Malaya (PMS UM), the Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar (MPP) UNIMAS, and the Persatuan Mahasiswa Fakulti Sains Kognitif dan Pembangunan Manusia (PM FSKPM). The forum provided an invaluable platform for students in Sarawak to explore various career pathways within the legal profession

The forum commenced with an introduction of the moderator and panellists. Ilman Jayasilan, Vice President of PMSUM and Head of Academics at UMSU Law, served as the moderator, skillfully guiding the discussions with professionalism and insight. The distinguished panellists invited to share their expertise included Tuan Imran bin Taha, a Syariah Judge; Puan Zaharah Malim, a sole proprietor at Zahara & Associates; and Tuan Mohd Adzrul bin Adzlan, a Senior State Counsel.

Throughout the session, discussions centred on the evolving landscape of the legal profession, the academic qualifications necessary for success in the field, and the extensive career opportunities available across various legal sectors. The panellists provided valuable insights into the essential skills and attributes required for aspiring legal professionals while also addressing the challenges and expectations associated with the profession.

The forum concluded with a token of appreciation ceremony, during which Mohd Hafizan bin Hashim, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs & Alumni, Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development, presented awards to the panellists and the moderator in recognition of their valuable contributions to the event.
