In conjunction with this year’s Women’s Day celebration, we interviewed 5 remarkable women about the challenges they face as a woman in their field, what inspires them and their advice to other women who are chasing their dreams.

In the demanding world of law enforcement, I have faced unique challenges that tested my resilience and adaptability. Here, I share my experiences as an auxiliary policewoman, navigating the complexities of shift work, daily interactions, and societal expectations, drawing inspiration from my steadfast mentor and advocating for women’s rights and equality.
Working in shifts, especially night shifts, has significantly impacted my sleep patterns, health, and work-life balance. To overcome these challenges, I meticulously manage my rest schedules, maintain my overall health, and adopt a healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise. By prioritizing these aspects, I can mitigate the adverse effects of shift work and maintain a balanced life.
Engaging with the public, colleagues, students, and various external parties such as parents, visitors, contractors, and ride-hailing service drivers presents its own set of challenges. Effective communication skills, heightened awareness, and swift situational control are essential to handle diverse scenarios efficiently. Continuous improvement in these areas ensures that I can navigate daily tasks with confidence and competence.

A significant source of inspiration and guidance in my journey has been my mother. Her relentless hard work, perseverance, and unwavering patience have been a beacon of strength for me. She embodies positivity and consistently prays for the best for her children, regardless of their career paths. Her teachings emphasize the importance of helping others, never complaining, and maintaining a strong spiritual foundation. This mentorship has profoundly influenced my approach to life and work.
In the pursuit of a more equitable society, I believe it is crucial to advocate for fair opportunities for women in education, employment, and sports. Ensuring equal quotas for men and women in various fields, and providing women with the same opportunities for promotions, training, and leadership roles, is essential.
The evolving roles of women in society now encompass leadership, entrepreneurship, and human rights activism, alongside traditional roles as mothers and wives. To support this evolution, better protection against violence and harassment, and increased awareness of women’s safety and well-being are imperative. Women must be encouraged to speak out and assert their rights.
Throughout my journey, there have been several moments of empowerment and pride. Serving as a frontliner during the COVID-19 pandemic, volunteering at vaccination centers, participating in TYT parades, contributing to campus convocation events, donating blood, and competing in sports at the state level are all significant achievements. These experiences have not only highlighted my dedication but also my commitment to making a positive impact on society.

For young women embarking on their careers or personal journeys, perseverance is key. Women today contribute significantly to family income and should not give up easily in their pursuits of education, work, or sports. Hard work, resilience, and a strong spiritual foundation are essential.
Believing in oneself is crucial. If you are passionate about a field, pursue it with determination and enthusiasm. Continuously improve your skills, maintain discipline, and do not hesitate to voice your opinions. Balancing work and personal life is vital to ensure mental and physical well-being. Strive to be the best version of yourself without comparing yourself to others.
In conclusion, navigating career challenges, drawing inspiration from mentors, advocating for women’s rights, and celebrating moments of empowerment are all integral to a fulfilling and impactful journey. By embracing these principles, I can overcome obstacles and contribute meaningfully to society.
