Final-year students from the Strategic Communication Programme, Faculty of Education, Language, and Communication (FELC), pulled off a successful roadshow as part of their PBK 4202, Strategic Campaign and Event Management course.
The Planet Pulse Roadshow was tied into the course’s main campaign, “EarthSOS: Our Planet, Our Future.” The theme was all about raising awareness of climate change and teaching the 5Rs – Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rot – which are principles that help minimise waste and promote environmental responsibility, to fellow UNIMAS students. In addition, it showed how learning can be fun with play activities.

Around 116 UNIMAS students took part in the roadshow. The Planet Pulse Roadshow kicked off on a high note with the arrival of the course coordinator, Dr. Vimala a/p Govindaraju, who was the first to visit and stop by.
Team members introduced the booth with brochures and panel boards explaining their mission. They even had 3D bins to show the 5R concept clearly. Activities included quizzes, puzzles, and photo opportunities. For the puzzle quiz, students watched a short movie about the 5Rs. Those who participated had the chance to win prizes such as pens, notepads, or bags from a lucky draw.
Aware of the social media influence, the organisers linked this platform to the activities as well. Participants eligible for the lucky draw must tag EarthSOS on their Instagram or Facebook account and set up a feedback board for the audience to share their thoughts and feedback on the event.
Nur Sufikah binti Abdul Razak, who led the roadshow team, said:
“I’m super thrilled with how the roadshow turned out. We hit our target audience and did an excellent job from start to finish.”
We hope that this kind of event will spread more awareness to everyone about the importance to act against climate change!
