A nearly three-hour programme conducted by the AIoT team on the Environmental Sensors and IoT Applications Module was successfully carried out on 21 January 2026 at AIOT Lab, Faculty of Engineering. This initiative was a part of a student exchange program, providing students with a fun and hands-on introduction to Internet of Things (IoT) applications for environmental monitoring.
Throughout the session, students were introduced to basic IoT concepts, engaged in interactive discussions and activities, and explored how IoT can be applied to real environmental scenarios. They also took part in hands-on activities using various environmental sensors, where they had the opportunity to programme the sensors, observe how they function, and view real-time data in action. The programme concluded with demonstrations of IoT hardware, including Arduino, micro:bit, and microcontrollers allowing students to gain practical insights into the components behind IoT systems.
The session was facilitated by Ts. Dr Dyg Norkhairunnisa, Ts. Ir Dr Then Yi Lung, Ts. Dr Kho Lee Chin, AP Ir Dr. Kuryati Kipli, Ts. Johari Abdul Karim, and Mr. Mohd Khairul Syazwan and was well received by the students for its engaging and enjoyable learning environment. Overall, the programme offered a lively and inspiring experience, enabling students to learn IoT concepts and environmental applications in a practical and enjoyable way.
