Kota Samarahan, 17 December 2025 – The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), strengthened its community engagement efforts through a character-building and educational programme held at Sekolah Menengah Al-Amin Kuching. The programme took place on 17 December 2025 at the Surau of SM Al-Amin Kuching, involving 85 students from Form 1 to Form 4.

The initiative aimed to enhance students’ self-management skills, digital awareness, and personal development through a series of talks and interactive activities. Lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Business, UNIMAS, were invited as guest speakers to share their expertise and insights.

In addition to the talks, students participated in interactive educational games coordinated by the Pembimbing Rakan Intelek Mahasiswa (PRIMU) UNIMAS club. These activities were designed to reinforce key learning outcomes while promoting teamwork and active participation.

Among the activities conducted were reflective sessions where students identified tasks they had yet to accomplish, encouraging them to avoid procrastination and take responsibility for their time. Students were also introduced to practical scheduling techniques and effective time management strategies.

Group-based activities symbolised life’s recurring challenges, teaching perseverance, determination, and trust in overcoming obstacles. Activities involving unexpected challenges, represented through thrown paper balls, further fostered resilience and adaptability among students.

The programme successfully fostered meaningful engagement between UNIMAS and the local school community while equipping students with essential life skills beyond the classroom. This initiative reflects FEB UNIMAS’s commitment to community outreach and holistic education in line with the university’s mission.

The Principal of Sekolah Menengah Al-Amin Kuching, Ustaz Mohd Hasnulomar Ali Saifudin bin Sahat, expressed his sincere appreciation to the Faculty of Economics and Business, UNIMAS, for the valuable contributions of its lecturers and students, and looked forward to continued collaboration in future programmes.
