The Institute of Social Informatics and Technological Innovations (ISITI) and Centre for Social Innovation (CSI), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), successfully hosted the TRIZ Seminar @ UNIMAS 2025, themed “From Knowledge to Innovation: Advancing TRIZ Thinking in UNIMAS”, on 26 November 2025 at Dewan Seminar, PITAS, UNIMAS. The seminar aimed to strengthen the university’s innovation culture and enhance creative problem-solving, bringing together TRIZ practitioners, academic leaders, and administrators to explore how systematic innovation can drive meaningful and sustainable change across the UNIMAS community.

The TRIZ Seminar @ UNIMAS 2025 featured a rich lineup of programmes designed to deepen understanding and strengthen the practice of systematic innovation across the university. The event opened with impactful keynote addresses from university leaders and TRIZ experts, who shared insights on innovation strategies, institutional transformation, and the growing role of TRIZ-driven initiatives in shaping UNIMAS’ future. This was followed by a series of expert sharing sessions that showcased real-world TRIZ applications spanning medicine, administration, academia, and alumni engagement—demonstrating how inventive thinking can be applied in diverse professional contexts.

A special session on eNURI further highlighted the importance of TRIZ as a foundational tool for nurturing young inventors and cultivating an innovation mindset among the next generation. The programme continued with an engaging Innovation Forum, where distinguished panellists explored strategic approaches to accelerate innovation and support a sustainable, future-ready UNIMAS. The seminar concluded with thoughtful closing remarks by Professor Dr. Abd Halim bin Busari, Director of the University Learning Commons (ULC), who emphasised the collective effort needed to advance a vibrant innovation culture within the university.
