In a significant collaborative effort, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH), UNIMAS and SMK Kota Samarahan successfully launched the ‘Program Sekolah Angkat Madani 2025′ on 10 November 2025. The multi-part initiative engaged 107 Form 4 students in a series of activities designed to foster critical skills and forward-thinking perspectives. Guided by the official theme, “Education, Well-being and Future Hope,” the program provided an enriching educational experience vital to the students’ personal and academic growth, preparing them to meet the challenges of the future with confidence and integrity.

A Mission-Driven Partnership for Community Impact
This initiative was more than a community outreach event; it was a deliberate expression of the university’s core mission and values. The program was strategically designed to ensure that the faculty’s engagement efforts were both purposeful and impactful, creating a tangible connection between academic principles and community development.
The program’s theme, “Education, Well-being and Future Hope,” directly aligns with the mission of FSSH UNIMAS to serve as “A Partner for Social Change.” By focusing on practical topics such as digital literacy, ethical online engagement, and career ambitions, the program translated this mission into direct action. This hands-on partnership moves beyond theoretical aspirations to actively nurture a well-informed and forward-thinking younger generation, empowering them with the tools needed to shape their futures. A central objective of the initiative was to cultivate a generation of students who are competitive, disciplined, and credible. To translate these ambitions into action, the program was structured as a multi-part engagement, beginning with workshops designed to build essential modern skills.
The first interactive session was an ‘ice-breaking’ activity conducted by Dr Khalid Zanudin. The main purpose was to create a comfortable and engaging environment for participants, allowing them to get acquainted with one another and build rapport before moving into the first workshop.

Navigating the Digital World: Literacy and Ethics
The first workshop, “Digital Literacy and Ethics of Use,” was led by Dr Mohd Khairul Nabil Mohd Nor Azan. This session was specifically developed to equip students with the essential knowledge needed to navigate the digital world responsibly. The workshop addressed key concepts of digital literacy and explored the critical ethical considerations surrounding online engagement, empowering students to become responsible and informed digital citizens.

Charting a Course: Ambition and Career Planning
Following the initial session, Dr Bemen Wong Win Keong led a sharing session titled “My Ambition: Determiner of the Future.” This activity was designed to inspire students to think critically and strategically about their career aspirations. Dr Bemen shared his experience of transforming from a low academic performer to a PhD holder. The session was highly inspirational, showing participants an alternative pathway to pursue higher education, specifically through TVET programs.

A Resounding Impact on Student Engagement
The program’s success can be measured not just by its execution but by its qualitative impact on the students. Throughout the workshops, participants demonstrated a remarkable level of engagement, consistently displaying enthusiasm, creativity, and self-confidence as they completed their assigned tasks. This overwhelmingly positive response indicates that the program’s content and its interactive format resonated strongly with the Form 4 students, meeting them at their level and addressing their genuine interests and needs.

In summary, the ‘Program Sekolah Angkat Madani 2025’ was a resounding success. By translating its mission as “A Partner for Social Change” into meaningful action, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities fulfilled its mission, making a meaningful investment in a future generation poised to be competitive, disciplined, and credible.
The Program Sekolah Angkat Madani 2025 concluded its main segment on November 10, 2025, with a closing ceremony. A key event during the closing ceremony was the presentation of souvenirs to the school representative and teachers.
