The Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development (FCSHD), UNIMAS, continues to bridge the gap between academia and industry, taking centre stage at Western Digital Sarawak’s Innovation Week 2025. Held on 11–12 September at the company’s Plant 2 facility, the event celebrated innovation, sustainability, and forward-thinking collaboration

Professor Dr Teh was invited as the Guest Keynote Speaker, where he delivered a keynote address entitled “Bridging the AI Gap: Technical Understanding for Industry”. His keynote emphasised the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) in driving innovation and industrial transformation. His presentation highlighted how bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industrial application can accelerate AI adoption and create greater impact for the workforce, management, and industry partners.

Beyond the keynote, Professor Dr Teh joined an engaging panel discussion alongside industry leaders, sharing perspectives on the future of AI and its role in building sustainable, technology-driven growth. UNIMAS representatives also participated in the exhibition booths, showcasing the university’s innovative projects and solutions, further enhancing academia-industry engagement.
Western Digital expressed its appreciation to Professor Dr Teh and the UNIMAS delegation, commending their role in enriching the event’s dialogue and inspiring participants to view innovation with renewed perspectives.
