In today’s fast-paced and demanding world, maintaining a healthy lifestyle has never been more crucial. The programme “Healthy Lifestyle Through Aerobic Dance: Energize Your Body, Refresh Your Mind”, held on 17 September 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), offered participants a meaningful and enjoyable way to embrace fitness. For an affordable fee of RM15, attendees not only experienced the joy of aerobic dance but also discovered how exercise can contribute to both physical vitality and mental rejuvenation.

Organised by Dr Leha Saliman, Dr Nor Hanim Awang @ Mohd Noor, and Madam Rowena Abdullah from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, the programme featured the expertise of experienced aerobics instructor Mr. Sukiman bin Adenan, supported by a team of assistant instructors.

The programme was designed with three main objectives. The first was to promote a healthy lifestyle by introducing participants to structured aerobic exercises. Unlike casual or inconsistent workouts, structured sessions ensured that participants exercised safely and systematically, encouraging consistency and helping them adopt fitness as an integral part of daily life.
The second and third objectives focused on enhancing physical fitness and supporting overall well-being. A complete sequence of warm-up, stretching, cardio, and conditioning routines helped participants improve flexibility, endurance, cardiovascular health, and muscle strength. In addition, guided cool-down techniques and emphasis on safe practice underscored the importance of preventing strain or injury while maximising health benefits.

Participants expressed their enthusiasm and joy throughout the session, actively engaging in every movement and radiating positive energy. Their involvement and cheerful spirit made the event a resounding success.
The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities extends heartfelt appreciation to all participants for their support and commitment. It is hoped that the positive habits nurtured during this programme will inspire them to continue prioritising their health and well-being. Together, the session proved that exercise can be not only beneficial but also fun, refreshing, and deeply rewarding.
