CABI Brace, an innovation from the Faculty of Applied and Creative Arts’ (FACA) AnaqAntoo Design Lab, is set to be featured as one of the highlights in Innovathon Season 3 on Astro. This upcoming episode will focus on the team’s progress since winning the People’s Choice Award in Season 2.
Since that achievement, the AnaqAntoo Design Lab team has continued to build momentum as scholars, design researchers, designers, and innovators. Their journey has been blessed with more successes, including a Gold Medal at InTEX2025 and collaborations with industry partners such as Samling Group of Companies, 3D Orthopaedics Sdn. Bhd., Fatt Keong Enterprise Sdn. Bhd., and Servex-Creality Malaysia. Their support is helping the team advance medical product design and innovation.
Through this journey, the CABI Brace brand is now increasingly recognised, positioning UNIMAS as a key reference for expertise in medical product design and paediatric orthopaedics. CABI Brace is the only clubfoot brace made in Malaysia, the lightest ever designed for this treatment, and to date, has shown excellent results among patients in Sarawak and Penang. This homegrown innovation was designed to support all children and parents living with clubfoot, especially those in need, and stands as a pioneering example of user-centred medical product innovation in Sarawak.
