Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia – 10 May, 2025 – Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), with The Malaysia AI Robotics Society (MARS) and Asia AI Robotics Research (A2R2) recently hosted a successful RoboCup Malaysia Open 2025 Outreach & Workshop, from May 10-11, 2025 at Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, UNIMAS.
The event drew 20 students from UNIMAS, i-CATS University College (i-CATS UC), and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), all eager to delve into the world of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI).
The workshop served as a platform to ignite interest in the upcoming RoboCup Malaysia Open 2025 competition and cultivate essential skills in this cutting-edge field.
Participants engaged with Dr Jeffrey of MARS in a variety of activities, including informative sessions, hands-on robot building and programming exercises, and demonstrations of advanced RoboCup technologies.
The event also provided a comprehensive overview of the RoboCup Malaysia Open 2025, outlining competition rules, categories, and registration details.
The workshop is expected to yield significant outcomes, including heightened student interest in robotics and AI, a deeper understanding of RoboCup’s mission, and enhanced practical skills among participants.
Ultimately, the event anticipates an increase in student team participation in the RoboCup Malaysia Open 2025 and strengthened ties between UNIMAS and other participating institutions.
