Shah Alam, 26 April 2025 – A team of second-year students from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT), Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), has clinched first place at the Prosolve National 2025 programming competition, held at the College of Computing, Informatics and Mathematics, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam.

Representing UNIMAS under the team name Alt+F4, the group comprised Bryce Yap Thai Khai, Benjamin Wong Jin Zhi, Chai Ming Yang, and Khoo Chee Guo, all currently pursuing a degree in Computational Science.

Organized by the Artificial Intelligence Society (AIS) and supported by Globalite Solution, the event drew participation from universities across Malaysia, including Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) and various faculties within UiTM Shah Alam.

What started as a quest for experience and résumé enhancement became a remarkable triumph.

The team’s strong synergy, strategic preparation, and dedication were key to their success.

Their victory earned them the championship title along with an RM1,500 cash prize, making their journey from Sarawak to Selangor both memorable and rewarding.

Excitement peaked during the closing ceremony when Alt+F4 was announced as the winner, followed by a celebratory banquet hosted by the organizers for all participants—a fitting end to a competitive and inspiring event.

Team Alt+F4’s success not only brings pride to UNIMAS but also serves as a shining example of how perseverance and collaboration can lead to excellence in national-level tech competitions.
