The FEng Workshop titled “IoT-based Monitoring System for Hemodialysis Water Purification Systems: Improving Early Detection of Operational Issues” took place on 5th May 2025, from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm at the Active Learning Centre, Level 1, Faculty of Engineering (FEng), UNIMAS.

This hands-on training focused on the integration of IoT technology into hemodialysis water purification systems, with an emphasis on techniques for real-time monitoring, fault detection, and data-driven decision making. Participants learned how to implement IoT-based solutions, analyze sensor data, and apply predictive maintenance strategies to improve operational reliability.

The workshop attracted more than 20 participants, including lecturers, postgraduate and undergraduates students. A highlight of the event was a special industry session by BioMedic Sdn Bhd, which featured practical demonstrations and real-world insights into dialysis system monitoring and maintenance, bridging the gap between academic learning and industrial application.

The Faculty of Engineering continues to encourage collaborative knowledge-sharing platforms such as this workshop to strengthen research, innovation, and industry readiness among its academic community.
