In the spirit of togetherness and community support, the Postgraduate Association (PGA) of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH) successfully organized a heartwarming Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program on Saturday, 26th April 2025. The activity took place at the residence of a fellow postgraduate student, who was preparing to move to a new home.
The CSR program, which aimed to assist their friend in cleaning and tidying the house before it was handed over, saw the enthusiastic participation of 10 postgraduate students. The initiative kicked off at 9:00 AM, but not before everyone gathered to enjoy a hearty breakfast, fuelling up for a day of teamwork and hard work.
The cleaning activity was a wholesome and rewarding affair, involving a deep clean of the living room, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms. Dust was wiped away, spider webs were removed, and every nook and corner was vacuumed and tidied to perfection. While some focused on the indoors, others took charge of the outdoor area, mowing the lawn, cleaning windows, repainting the fence, and clearing the drains. The house was given a complete makeover, leaving it spotless and refreshed.

Among the dedicated postgraduate students who participated in the CSR program were: Bryan Anderson anak Wis, Ha Heng Yii, Hubert Ron Ragam, Muhammad Amsyar Iman Bin Mohd Ramlan, Nasaruddin Baba, Nurin Wahida Amalin Binti Aslizam, Raes Dashreen bin Che Mohd Rokman, Rudey Asok, Shazni Binti Awang Samad and Siti Juliana Binti Anas.
Every participant gave their full commitment and energy throughout the day, showing incredible teamwork, care, and compassion. The program concluded at 5:00 PM, with smiles all around as everyone admired the transformation of the house — clean, tidy, and ready to be handed over.
This CSR initiative not only strengthened the bonds of friendship among the postgraduate students but also reflected the core values of FSSH and UNIMAS in fostering community engagement, mutual respect, and the spirit of volunteerism. It demonstrated how simple acts of kindness and cooperation can make a significant difference in someone’s life. The Postgraduate Association of FSSH extends heartfelt appreciation to all the members who participated, for their outstanding co-operation and positive attitude. Their willingness to contribute their time and effort on a weekend is a testament to their strong community spirit.

Moving forward, the Postgraduate Association hopes to organize more community-based initiatives and CSR programs to continue nurturing a culture of empathy, volunteerism, and social responsibility among postgraduate students.
To other postgraduate students out there — let this be an inspiration! Get involved, support one another, and make meaningful contributions within and beyond campus. Together, we can create not only an academic environment but a caring and supportive community where no one is left behind.
