UNIMAS continues to make waves in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship as Team UNIMAS secures a place among the Top 15 teams in the IoT Incubator Top Agropreneur 2.0 program. Organized by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), this prestigious initiative aims to nurture agriculture-based startups by integrating Internet of Things (IoT) technology into agribusiness solutions.

The IoT Incubator Top Agropreneur 2.0 program provides a valuable platform for university students to develop and refine their technology-driven agricultural solutions. As part of this initiative, Team UNIMAS participated in an intensive bootcamp and fund handover ceremony on February 23-24, 2025, held at DRB-Hicom Training Centre, Port Dickson. During this two-day event, participants engaged in mentorship sessions, business model refinement, and hands-on workshops aimed at equipping them with the skills necessary to translate their ideas into viable agritech solutions. The highlight of the event was the presentation of RM5000 in funding to each of the Top 15 teams, providing crucial financial support to bring their projects to life.

Representing Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) in this prestigious competition is a dynamic team of four talented students from different faculties, guided by an esteemed mentor:

🔹 Muhammad Hilmi Irfan bin Zabidi (Faculty of Economics and Business)
🔹 Kimberly Blossom anak Kenneth (Faculty of Economics and Business)
🔹 Nurul Najeva Binti Pali (Faculty of Economics and Business)
🔹 Muhammad Ukasyah Bin Jokepli (Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology)
🔹 Mentor: AP Dr. Noor Alamshah Bin Bolhassan (Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology)

The selection of Team UNIMAS in the Top 15 underscores the UNIMAS Entrepreneurship Centre’s commitment to fostering technopreneurship and industry-driven startup. By combining IoT technology with agriculture, the team aims to create solutions that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and promote sustainability in the farming sector. This achievement not only highlights the capabilities of UNIMAS students in emerging technologies but also serves as an inspiration for aspiring innovators and entrepreneurs. It showcases how interdisciplinary collaboration between business and technology can drive impactful solutions for the agriculture industry.
