KOTA SAMARAHAN, 8 January 2025 – The Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FCSIT) at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) once again showcased its commitment to community welfare through Blood Donation Drive 3.0: A Drop of Life!
Spearheaded by the dedicated efforts of Audrey Virginia Sim, a third-year Multimedia Computing student, and supported by the dynamic initiatives of Persatuan Teknologi Maklumat (PERTEKMA) FCSIT, this impactful event underscored the compassionate spirit thriving within the FCSIT community.
Held at the UNIX Lab, the campaign attracted 50 donors who contributed blood to support Sarawak General Hospital.
Audrey, organizing the third blood donation drive, reflected on the event’s significance: “Coming from a household where some of my loved ones have experienced illness, I deeply understand the power of small acts of kindness. This blood donation drive represents hope, strength, and a lifeline for many. The mission is to create opportunities for families like mine to have a better future.”
Generous contributions from sponsors, including Carana Enterprise, Dapur Naufal, Life Event Borneo, Three Tea, Green Leaf, and PureEase, ensured participants received refreshments and tokens of appreciation.
In collaboration with the Sarawak General Hospital, Blood Donation Drive 3.0 raised awareness about the vital importance of blood donation, successfully replenishing life-saving reserves and strengthening the bond between FCSIT and the community.
Through initiatives like this, FCSIT and PERTEKMA continue to prove that computer science students extend far beyond technology, showcasing their dedication to fostering compassion, collaboration, and positive societal impact.
