On 21 – 22 October 2024, Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr Adnan bin Zainorabidin, an External Examiner from Faculty of Civil Engineering and Built Environment, UTHM, visited Department of Civil Engineering, UNIMAS to review the quality of teaching, learning, assessments and students experience. The 2-day visit involved meeting with academic staff, technical staff, and a group of students representing different year levels, a tour of laboratory facilities, aside from reviewing the documentation.
Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr Adnan bin Zainorabidin also took the opportunity to meet with the research fellows of Research Centre for Construction on Peat and Problematic Soils (COPPS) to introduce his Research Centre for Soft Soil (RECESS). During the meeting, they exchanged ideas and shared expertise, highlighting ongoing research projects, and available resources. The fruitful discussion opened up exciting opportunities for future collaboration.
Overall, the visit was successful, with the examiner providing positive feedback and valuable recommendations for improvement. These suggestions will be carefully considered to ensure continuous progress and in preparation for EAC accreditation visit.
