FRST students from the Agrotechnology Program during their visit to the Universitas Brawijaya Forest Arjuna Coffee facility

The Agrotechnology Programme at the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology (FRST) has boldly stepped out of its comfort zone, venturing into new horizons in the field of agriculture. From April 29th 2024 to May 22nd 2024, ten undergraduate students from the Agrotechnology Programme participated in the prestigious Brawijaya International Student Mobility Award (BISMA). Hosted by the Faculty of Agricultural Technology at Universitas Brawijaya, this international short course program focused on “Integrated Agricultural Technologies: Smart Farming, Sustainable Agriculture, Nanotechnology, Bioprocessing, and Biotechnology.”

The program attracted selected students from Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia, offering a rich and diverse learning environment. The curriculum extended beyond traditional agriculture, encompassing agricultural engineering, urban farming, and advanced agricultural technologies. Throughout the program, participants were evaluated through group assignments, presentations, and a capstone project, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging educational experience.

The recent Exchange Student Mobility Program at Universitas Brawijaya, Indonesia, has been a resounding success, providing a transformative experience for all participants. This program has not only fostered academic growth but also promoted cross-cultural understanding and global partnership. Students from various parts of the world immersed themselves in Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage, diverse traditions, and vibrant academic environment.

Participants attended classes, engaged in collaborative projects, and participated in various cultural activities, all contributing to their personal and professional development. They shared knowledge, ideas, and experiences with their Indonesian peers, creating lasting friendships and networks that transcend borders.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Universitas Brawijaya for their exemplary efforts in organizing and hosting this successful exchange program. Their commitment to providing a welcoming and enriching environment has made a significant impact on the lives of the exchange students.

This journey has not only enhanced the students’ academic prowess but also broadened their cultural horizons, preparing them to be well-rounded professionals in the global agricultural landscape.
