The monthly recycling collection activity took place smoothly in Kampung Bako Hulu, Bako Tengah, and Bako Hilir on Sunday, September 8, 2024. The event was held at two different locations: Surau Darul Ibadah in Kampung Bako Hulu and Dewan Penghulu Haji Hamid. The support from all residents was outstanding, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire Kampung Bako community, EcoProject Bako, and the Persatuan Kelestarian Alam Kampung Bako, Kuching for their invaluable contributions
This community project, funded by Yayasan Hasanah, was coordinated in partnership with the University Sustainability Centre UNIMAS. Under the leadership of Madam Nur Syuhada binti Ahmad Zauzi from Department of Chemical Engineering and Energy Sustainability, UNIMAS, the event successfully gathered a wide variety of recyclable items, significantly contributing to environmental protection efforts. We are thrilled to report the collection totals:
• 84.4 kg (Paper/Cardboard)
• 71.16 kg (PP/PET/HDPE)
• 15.5 kg (Aluminum Cans)
• 128.6 kg (Used Cooking Oil)
• 22.7 kg (Milk/Sardine Cans)
This achievement not only reflects the hard work of those involved but also highlights the importance of community awareness regarding recycling. Every contribution, no matter how small, plays a vital role in our mission to sustain the environment.
Let’s continue this spirit of collaboration and look forward to seeing even more participants in our future recycling efforts. Together, we can make a significant impact on our environment. Let’s keep working together to protect our environment for future generations!
