On 29th July 2024, Zhejiang University of Science and Technology (ZUST) and UNIMAS co-hosted a dynamic mini architecture design symposium, showcasing a fruitful exchange of innovative ideas and fostering international collaboration. The event featured presentations from three architecture students from UNIMAS and three from ZUST, each sharing their ambitious studio projects and design solutions.

The symposium was a vibrant platform for students to present their work, which spanned a range of architectural themes and approaches. UNIMAS students showcased projects that integrated sustainable design principles with local cultural contexts, reflecting their commitment to environmentally responsive architecture. In contrast, the ZUST presentations highlighted cutting-edge technologies and modern design strategies, emphasizing efficiency and adaptability in urban settings.

The collaboration between UNIMAS and ZUST exemplifies the spirit of Sustainable Development Goal 17 (SDG 17), which emphasizes the importance of partnerships for achieving global goals. This event was not just a showcase of student talent but also a testament to the growing relationship between these two institutions. By facilitating this cross-cultural exchange, both universities are contributing to a global dialogue on architectural innovation and sustainability.

The symposium provided a platform for students to engage with diverse perspectives, enhancing their understanding of how architectural practices can address both local and global challenges. The dialogue fostered during the event encourages ongoing collaboration and knowledge sharing, which are essential for tackling complex issues such as climate change and urban development.

In summary, the mini architecture design symposium between ZUST and UNIMAS was a significant milestone in promoting international academic partnerships and advancing architectural education. It demonstrated how collaborative efforts can drive innovation and contribute to achieving SDG 17 by building meaningful relationships across borders.
