On August 15th and 16th, 2024, a two-day training workshop on scientific writing was conducted by Professor Dr. Zainab Ngaini and Associate Professor Dr. Rafeah Wahi from the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology, UNIMAS. Organized under the Professional Continuous Excellent Learning (ProCEL) program by UNIMAS Business School, the workshop aimed to enhance participants’ skills in crafting clear and impactful scientific articles.

With the title of “Streamlining Scientific Writing: A Practical Guide to Publishing in High-Impact Journals for Early Researchers”, the hybrid workshop took place at the Inspire Room, FRST, offering participants the flexibility to attend either in person or remotely via Webex. The workshop drew over 20 participants, including students and professionals from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), Curtin University Malaysia, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), and Grand Olie Sdn Bhd.

This intensive course provided early researchers and students with essential strategies for structuring their research articles for submission to high-impact journals. It aimed to help participants overcome writer’s block and gain confidence in publishing impactful articles by guiding them through a detailed, step-by-step process of article structuring. The workshop also emphasized the effective use of AI tools in research and writing, featuring hands-on activities and one-on-one coaching sessions. Virtual attendees were fully integrated into the experience, engaging in discussions alongside in-person participants.

Feedback from the participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with many appreciating the welcoming environment and active engagement with the trainers. “I value the constructive feedback and publishing insights from the workshop. The course is very easy to understand and helps me improve my manuscript for publication,” noted one attendee.
