On 23rd July, LegacyLight, one of the representative from UNIMAS competed in the grand finale of the Entrecamp Malaysia competition, a startup competition organized by Reactor School. This achievement would not have been possible without the help from the UNIMAS Entrepreneurship Centre (UEC).
LegacyLight idea is to solve the problem on keeping will’s and asset through a platform. A news article from mysun.my shown that less than 20% of Malaysian have a valid and up-to- date will’s and the remainings went opposite due to many individuals are not aware that they are beneficiaries and some could not be traced to hand over the inheritance. LegacyLight solve this by having a platform to keep the documents, safely secured and efficiently.
Before the event, LegacyLight competed in the Sarawak Leg on the 25th and 26th of May, going up against 10 other teams from universities such as UITM and Swinburne University. LegacyLight managed to secure the top place and earned the opportunity to compete at Asia Pacific University (APU) in Kuala Lumpur on 23rd July 2024. After months of preparation, supported by the UEC team with ideas and sponsorship for the trip, led to this success.
LegacyLight gained valuable experience from interacting with investors and received particular praise for its budget management, which was assisted by UEC. Overall, it was a great experience for LegacyLight!
