The University Sustainable Centre (USC) and the Faculty of Resource Science and Technology (FRST) of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) will be holding the 1st International Symposium of Sustainable Environment and Community in Borneo 2023 (ISSECB2023) at PITAS and FRST, UNIMAS, Kota Samarahan, Sarawak from 16-18 November 2023.
The central focus of the symposium revolves around “Preserving Biodiversity and Nurturing the Environment through Scholarly Inquiry and Community Involvement in the Bornean Region,” underscoring the critical role of a multidisciplinary strategy in advancing the conscientious and enduring management of our natural resources. The primary objective of this symposium is to convene a gathering of both global and local scholars and academics within the Bornean locale, enabling them to disseminate their latest discoveries, pioneering concepts, and methodologies pertaining to biodiversity, environmental matters, and community engagements.

• Biodiversity and conservation of tropical forests (flora and fauna)
• Freshwater, marine & coastal biodiversity and environment
