The International University Carnival on E-Learning (IUCEL) is a global event that brings together educators from around the world to share their innovative e-learning practices. This year, IUCEL focused on the theme “Empowering Society Through Education 5.0” and encouraged educators to showcase their creative approaches to teaching and learning. UNIMAS, recognising the importance of e-learning, actively participated in the event.

IUCEL 2023 not only provided a platform for discussions but also recognized outstanding achievements in e-learning through the IUCEL 2023 Awards. This year, seven distinct award categories were introduced:

  1. Best Trend-Setter Award
  2. Best e-Learning Management System Award
  3. Outstanding e-Learning Project Award
  4. Best Micro-Credentials Award
  5. Outstanding Open Educational Resources (OER) Award
  6. Outstanding Inclusive Open Educational Resources (iOER) Award
  7. Outstanding Community Award

UNIMAS was committed to advancing e-learning and proudly sent representatives to compete in IUCEL 2023, which took place on September 25-26, 2023. We congratulate the winners of this competition, whose outstanding achievements make our institution proud. We believe that their success will inspire and further enhance our university’s e-learning efforts.

UNIMAS performed exceptionally well in the competition, securing a total of two Gold medals, seven Silver medals, and one Bronze medal. These individuals and their teams demonstrated dedication and expertise in the field of e-learning:

Gold medal winners:

  1. Dr. Siti Nurlydia Sazali – Faculty of Resource Science and Technology (FRST)
  2. Dr. Nor Mazlina Ghazali – Faculty of Cognitive Sciences and Human Development / Centre for Applied Learning and Multimedia (FCSHD/ CALM)

Silver medal winners:

  1. Ts. Dr. Dayang Azra Awang Mat – Faculty of Engineering / Centre for Applied Learning and Multimedia (FE/CALM)
  2. Dr. Dyg Norkhairunnisa Abg Zaidel – Faculty of Engineering (FE)
  3. AP Dr. Ashley Edward Roy Soosay – Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS)
  4. Dr. Nurashikin Suhaili – Faculty of Resource Science and Technology (FRST)
  5. Ts. Mohd Nasaruddin @ Harith Abdul Nasir – Faculty of Resource Science and Technology (FRST) – (2 medals)
  6. Dr. Dolly Paul Carlo – Faculty of Social Sciences & Humanities (FSSH)

Bronze medal winner:

  1. Dr. Soo Ruey Shin – Faculty of Education, Language and Communication (FELC)
